What is resident artists program?
With a view to developing Yokohama as a city of arts where artists can set a clear goal for their creation, Steep Slope Studio supports talented young artists through resident artists program with human, production and financial resources in a long-term perspective.
With a view to presenting quality works of performing arts from Yokohama to the world, we intend to form an organic community of artists inspiring each other in the same rehearsal room.
Resident artists are given priority for using rehearsal rooms in Steep Slope Studio and are required to foster artists of the next generation and actively communicate with local residents through open rehearsals and workshops and participate in events and projects organized by Steep Slope Studio.
As of today, we have four resident artists based in Yokohama: Toshiki Okada (chelfitsch), Shigeki Nakano (Shigeki Nakano & Frankens) , Mikuni Yanaihara (Nibroll) and Yasuko Nakada (space art HIKARI).
Please pay attention to their movements of Yokohama ~ performing arts.
