Since high school, when she began to dance, Yanaihara has won numerous awards for her work, including the NHK Awards at a national high school dance competition.
After graduating from university with a degree in dance,
Yanaihara turned her sights on film and enrolled in film school.
Since creating Nibroll in 1997, Yanaihara has taken brought Nibroll to festivals a range of festivals including the Oregon Dance Festival, the San Francisco Butoh Festival, and the Berlin Fusion Festival, earning great critical acclaim as a choreographer.
March, 1993 Graduate from Osaka University of Health & Sports Sciences (Majoring in Dance, specializing in coaching)
August, 1996 Joins Kanagawa-based performing arts company ASK
March, 1997 Enrolls in the Tokyo School for the visual arts (Specializing in the creation of visual images)
April, 1997 Forms Nibroll
October, 1998 Joins Artistic residency at Akiyoshidai International Performing Arts Village
April, 2002 Becomes part-time professor at Tokyo Zokei College, Dance Department
March, 2003 Enrolls in the Asian Cultural Council Artist Overseas Program in New York
